it writes, “A message from the future, STOP CO2 emission!

FINAL
my final work
The message there is
“a message from the future, Stop CO2 emmision”
how I did my work
Progress on assignment 3
Failed to scan my sketches
but here’s a simple sketch I made using Paint.
I have shown my original sketches to Dr Koo though…
Meanwhile, let me post some of my progress….
It’s a girl wearing gas mask. I’ll only post the unfinished head…
If we don’t stop CO2 emission,
in the future, we all would be wearing gas mask.
I’m working on factories and smokes for the background.
There are believers and skeptics of Global warming.
I’m neither, but I do believe that humans are
causing extensive damage to the enviroment.
We must put a stop to it somehow.
For my 3rd assignment, I am either
going to do a poster about CO2 pollution from factories,
or Melting ice caps, or flooding.
I am currently doing a sketch of all three of them.
Which ever is nice, I’ll do…
edit*
I have decided to make a poster of
factories emitting clouds of hazardous smoke.
This is because CO2 is the main contributor of
Global warming.
This idea suits me ( I’m neither believer or skeptic of GW)
Wether Global Warming is a myth or not,
pollution is bad for the enviroment..
I’m doing Carbon Dioxide from factories,
but there are other contributors such as:
cars, airplane, buildings, etc.

MY DESIGN STATEMENT IS
STOP CO2 EMMISION! OR OUR FUTURE GENERATION
WILL BE WEARING GASMASK 24/7…
haha kind of funny and inconvinient if that were
to happen..
the final work
As promised, here’s my calendar
It has almost all the stuff from my initial sketch, minus the tiger 😛
Here’s a little bit of a description about my final calendar.
Malaysia’s Independence day falls on 31st of August 1957.
It has been 51 years since then.
Design Statement
Colors of Malaysia
Its a different statement from last time, because I want it too be colorful and fun.
Malaysia have been enjoying freedom for the last 51 years.
Because we are living in peace and we have fun every day we live.
We should be thankful for that.
Thats why, I want the calendar to have a “fun”, festive feel to it. Do you feel it too?
Inspiration
The design of the calendar is based on the Malaysian Flag.
It consist of
the colors red, blue, yellow, white
a star with 14 points (for the 14 state thats in Malaysia)
The colors of Malaysia
Blue means peace.
Yellow is the royal color.
Red means bravery.
White means pure.
I also include, Tunku Abdul Rahman, because he is the most important figure
that leads the fight for Malaysia’s Independence.
I mention fight, but Malaysia didn’t obtain independence through blood-shed.
Bunga Raya or Hibiscus is Malaysia’s national flower.
I simplify the flower design, but I hope you still recognize that it is a hibiscus.
Assignment 2 finish!
My calendar is finally finished! I have problems with my Illustrator, so I will upload the full final work later…please wait…
Before that, let me tell you about how I did my work.
The final work, I have omitted most of the Bunga raya (hibiscus),
I can’t guarantee it will look nice with less flower,
but it will look less crowded or messy for sure 😛 …
I mostly used the Pen, pencil tool, smudge.
Bloat I used mostly on the number “51”.
drop shadow is also used to make it looks “floating” 😛
Gradient on “light” rays.
Aqua neon. On the calendar dates.
I use grid to place the dates on the calendar…
I intentionally put some dates (double digit)
out of place to make it look fun.
Tunku Abdul Rahman- I mostly used pen, pencil, smudge.
In the real picture, he is facing the other way. So I trace him up using pen tool,
and I reflect his image.
As you can see, I didn’t trace it exactly as the photo.. I just used the photo as a reference…
~STAY TUNE FOR MY FINAL WORK~
will upload in a few momments
ASSIGNMENT 2 progress
This is my sketch…
initially it was going to be like the sketch, but I realise that the tiger took too much time,
so I didn’t draw the tiger…
This is the pic of Tunku Abdul Rahman, the father of Malaysian Independence…
I’m going to insert his figure inside my calendar..
Hibiscus is Malaysia’s national flower, here we have a simplification of Hibiscus, which is going to be
in my calendar.
Here’s a real Hibiscus if you’re wondering..
I got an idea of a rounded flag design, from this
Yesterday, I did it in Illustrator..
Still not finish, here’s how it looks…
I wanted to add more stuff but afraid if it will make it look worse.
should have upload it yesterday, but I got problem with my internet
What do you think?
Assignment 2
The calendar for my assignment 2 is about Malaysia’s independence day, or “Merdeka” day..
The design statement is about the things that makes Malaysia as it is…
I’ve yet to scan the sketches (no scanner), stay tuned…
